If I could give Eric Kang 10 stars, I would in a heartbeat! He really is the KANG OF REALTY. As a first-time homebuyer and single parent, I was just as excited to be buying my first house as I was overwhelmed—but Eric made the entire process not only simple, but unexpectedly enjoyable. He helped me land the home of my dreams in a fiercely competitive market (we were up against 6 other offers!), and thanks to his skill, strategy, crazy amazing charm and constant support, we managed to get our offer accepted. On top of being totally and completely blown away that the first offer I'd ever made on a house was accepted, we closed in just two weeks! He also went above and beyond making the experience for my son something equally magical and made a memory for him he'll never forget. He made a deal with him that if I ended up getting the house, he'd get him his first ever Xbox. 8 months later, and we're both still flying high on cloud 9!

Given this was my first experience actually going through the home-buying process, Eric was a great choice to work with. My partner and I were randomly paired up with Eric on Zillow after scheduling an open house appointment. Before the open house, we had a Zoom meeting to get to know one another. We had great chemistry and decided to move forward. After meeting Eric in person for the first time, we saw how down to earth and personable he is.

We met Eric at an open house and the rest is history! We immediately felt that ‘click’ with Eric’s communication style and responsiveness, so asked him if he’d be willing to support us in our journey to buy our first home. At the time, we had thought we had already found “the one” and were in a rush to act. Eric was immediately on the case collecting intel from the seller’s agent and helping us get comps and disclosures, but also encouraging us to consider all the factors important to us. After we learned more about the property, we decided to hold back, and we really appreciated Eric’s patience and understanding there - it was clear that he truly wanted the best for us and for us to be 100% sure that we had found the right home.

When we eventually did find “the one”, once again, Eric’s fast action got us the edge we needed to get our offer accepted. He arranged for us to view the property before it went live on Redfin (was listed as “coming soon”) and so our below-asking offer was accepted before the property was even open to wider competition - a credit to Eric's charisma and negotiation skills!

The journey to closing Escrow was very interesting and involved some unforeseen legal complexities on the seller’s side. Eric was such a great resource in helping to protect our interests along the way (maintained daily communication with the sellers and their attorney). Based on his connections and recommendations coming through his real estate legal counsel, we eventually decided to retain our own attorney, which was a major factor in giving us peace-of-mind as we approached closing day!

Eric is incredibly knowledgeable and well connected but also so down-to-earth and not at all pushy or condescending. We 100% recommend working with him if you are looking for your next home in the Bay Area!!!

We met Erik at an open house, liked our first impression and decided right there that we wanted to hang out with this person while looking for the biggest investment of our lives. He did not disappoint, followed up right away and our journey ensued.

We had already been following housing trends for over a year so we had a realistic goal for the amount we would spend and the areas where we would find those housing prices.
Erik signed us up with the auto MLS search which sent us houses within our search range as soon as they came on the market. He was quick to respond to any request to see a house, run comps and reach out to other realtors to get an idea of interest in that home . When we wrote up an offer, which we did about seven times, Erik knew competition was high and our offer was modest which meant a higher chance of not getting the house. But Erik was patient, persistent, and confident that we would be homeowners. He never pressured us to play the bidding game, he was honest when asked his opinion and always made us feel like he was giving 110%.
Although we already had a pre-approval from a lender when we met Erik, we ultimately went with a lender he referred to us. He has enough lender connections to be educated on the most current loan programs available for his clients. Again, Erik proves he is looking out for his clients best interest.
Ultimately we found the perfect house for us and Eriks communication with the listing agent was critical and where his persistence really excelled. We feel lucky to have met Erik at an open house at the start of our home buyers journey
We will use Erik in future realty transactions and refer to everyone.

Eric took the time to truly know my wife and I from our very first meeting and he never rushed the process. He helped us determine exactly what we were and weren’t looking for in a house and he helped us find the absolute best value on our budget.

I am an off-hours self employed professional and Eric was so incredibly accommodating for my schedule. I was introduced to Eric through a friend who had a great experience buying a home with and my immediate thoughts were how on top of things Eric was and I really appreciated our first conversation and how thorough and simple he made the process of buying a home appear, its actually quite complicated. We were introduced to Eric through a common friend of ours in the beginning of our house hunt. For those who have even tried to think about buying a house in the Bay Area, I should tell you that housing market here is equivalent of Estuarine rivers of Australia full of saltwater crocodiles, and Eric is the Steve Irwin who will navigate these waters with you. He will keep you grounded, set the right expectations, and be available whenever you need him. His approach is to make you learn the details of the housing market, and make his clients comfortable with the technicalities of viewing houses, reading the disclosures, and assessing the value based on hard numbers. Given the nature of the market in the Bay Area, he also acts as a reality check when it comes to making offers and setting expectations. The best thing about Eric is his honest approach, which was evident when we first met Eric and he told us that there is no panacea to finding the house, everyone makes multiple offers and eventually everyone who is positive, persistent, and patient will find the property they are looking for. In our home search, we interacted with a lot of realtors and eventually Eric was the one who impressed us the most.

Last, but the most important thing about Eric is that he has the soul of an artist, which I believe is the most important part of being in the real estate business. The best part about working with Eric is that he manages to provide useful insight without bias. When viewing houses he would point out flaws that may not be easily spotted by the average eye and also had an idea of what the cost of repairs would be. With this knowledge he is able to provide good insight and advice as to what potential problems a homeowner may run into and how to avoid them without talking you out of biding on a house or pressuring you to make an offer. Having an unbiased but informational approach is part of what makes him easy to work with. He is also incredibly knowledgeable about neighborhoods, patterns in the market, and what work a house may need just by visibly inspecting it. I appreciate that he also hand picked houses for viewing with similar styles to houses I showed interest in online. When preparing to close on my home Eric made himself available on the drop of a dime even while he was on vacation to provide insight on the bidding process, negotiate with the other party, and facilitate a smooth closing.

Eric has been an amazing throughout the entire process, especially his patience with us as first time homebuyers. The process of buying a home in the Bay Area is a difficult, scary and stressful experience, considering you’re plunking down all your actual money toward the biggest purchase of your life. Somehow Eric made that experience as enjoyable as it could be. He was extremely upfront, knowledge, attentive, prompt and responsive to all our questions. If he didn’t have the answer to a question himself, he found it or referred us to someone who did.

Working with Eric was more like working with friend who happened to be a realtor, rather than a realtor trying to be your friend. He was genuine and looked out for our best interests.There was never any pressure but he kept us motivated and positive that we’d find our home. In the end, he was the one person that we trusted the most through the whole process and he truly cared that we were happy with our choice. I can only imagine how hard it would have been without him. Eric was great at helping me buy my first home! Together we learned to navigate the tricky VA home loan process and after a few attempts, I was finally able to get in my dream home! He was always responsive and happy to go to showings with me. He is a perfect blend of fun and professional- not some stuffy realtor you can’t relate to. Look no further! Eric is the best in the business - he amazed me at every stage of the process with his masterful knowledge of the Oakland real estate market, negotiating skills, and his ability to juggle a million things at once. I was really amazed at his negotiating skills. When the initial offer seemed tentatively accepted but the seller asked us to raise the price, Eric had the intuition to know that we already had the deal in the bag, and held firm on our price - and his intuition proved right: the deal was accepted the next day! And not only that, he was able to advocate for us to get additional money back for repairs.

What was even more amazing is that Eric changed my life by helping me propose on the day that our home closed!!! I knew that I wanted to propose but was totally lost and drawing blanks on how to do it. But then in came Eric with a masterful plan to "hire a videographer to market his business" to capture the proposal on camera. My fiancee was toooooootally surprised. By the time we had arrived to get the keys, Eric had already set up the backyard with rose petals, candles, and a bottle of champagne to celebrate. He coordinated the entire proposal. Is it possible to go more above and beyond than that!?
