Thank you for reading, enjoy…The September 16, 2008 stock market crash, fueled primarily by risky, subprime real estate loans, threatened households and governments into bankruptcy. For many, the Crash of 2008 dwindled their retirement accounts and dramatically undercut the equity of their homes. This resulted in evictions, forecl osures, and prolonged unemployment. Prior to the Global Financial Crisis, the Real Estate Bubble peaked in 2006. The theory was that real estate prices would continue to escalate, and loans could continue to be issued based on perceived notion that equity in houses was guaranteed. During all this time, I was a business and economics undergraduate at California State Channel Islands. By studying the process that governs the prices of goods and services, I understood the basic notion that “the rules of the house” where no longer being followed. My degree also included an emphasis in entrepreneurship; as business model, it was obvious that poorly structured loans, combined with artificially inflated home prices, could not be a sustained business model.
