Garrett was born and raised in Scales Mound, IL. He offers extensive local knowledge, strong negotiating skills, a high-level work ethic, and a focus on customer service.
Garrett is active in the community. When not practicing Real Estate, Garrett also has many hobbies. He is a hot-air balloon pilot, musician, avid traveler, and a wedding officiate.
During the summer you will find Garrett flying his hot-air balloon in and around Jo Daviess County whenever the weather is perfect. Garrett has competed in the National Balloon Classic in Indianola, IA and loves spending time in the Des Moines area with many other balloon pilots. He attended the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta in 2012. He received his Private certificate in September 2014 and his Commercial certificate in November 2015. As a commercially ranked pilot, Garrett flies banner advertisements for various companies as well as passenger rides.
Garrett plays many instruments, his main instrument being the guitar. He also plays harmonica, stand-up bass, autoharp, and mandolin. He has been quite successful in the music business with 140 performances in 2014, and over 150 performances in 2015. He plays locally but has performed as far as California, Las Vegas, Colorado, Florida, and even once played on a Carnival cruise ship!
His unique hobbies have given him many opportunities to meet people from all over the world, which in turn supplied him with unique travel destinations. Whenever time and finances allow, you will find Garrett hopping on a plane to a new destination. He has been to 41 of 50 states in the United States as well as several places in Mexico and Canada. His favorite destination so far has been Cabo San Lucas.
Garrett is also an active member of the Galena Elk’s Lodge.
Garrett is the son of Gary and Shari Meyer-Hillary and has one younger sister, Alison.
