Gary Koepplin, a proud Montana native, was born and raised in Missoula, Montana, on a ranch west of the city. His parents raised and raced thoroughbred horses and other breeds used for ranch work. For many years, Gary and his wife have lived and worked in the Bitterroot area.
Having graduated from Hellgate Elementary School and Sentinel High School in Missoula, Gary also attended the University of Montana. Since the early 1990s, he has been actively involved in the real estate industry and is a licensed Realtor with an office in Hamilton. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Northwest Montana Association of Realtors® and was a former member of the Bitterroot Valley Board of Realtors®. Gary has held various positions in both associations and is in his fourth year serving as treasurer for the Montana Association of Realtors®.
While real estate is his profession, Gary's other passion is horse racing. He was appointed to the Montana Board of Horse Racing and is the Executive Secretary of that board under the current administration. His extensive experience in racing facilities, having worked in various official positions from custodian in the jock’s room to Executive Officer for the Montana Board of Horse Racing, brings a unique perspective to his board position.
Gary and his wife, Colleen, reside in the Bitterroot Valley, and together they have two children and three grandchildren.
