Broker associate Gig Gilbert started his real estate career nearly three decades ago, working in the beautiful waterfront neighborhoods of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, before bringing his experience and connections to the majestic mountain communities of western North Carolina. A strong negotiator, Gig's persistence and work ethic have contributed to his success as a real estate professional, while being licensed in Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina offers a broader marketing base to his customers.
Experienced in renovating and selling properties, Gig loves to share his vision of what a home can become. Over 14 years ago, he developed a commercial property in the mountain community of Cashiers before he was bought out three years later. He furthered his professional experience by working as an on-site associate with The Cliffs at Walnut Cove, where he finished as one of the exclusive community's top multimillion-dollar producers. Having spent the past several years brokering deals in other high-end neighborhoods throughout western North Carolina, Gig is excited to partner with Premier Sotheby's International Realty and looks forward to the powerhouse brand that Sotheby's carries.
A native of Fort Lauderdale, Gig developed an early connection to the mountains of North Carolina as it was a favorite family vacation spot. His affinity for the region only grew when he attended college here, got married in Highlands, and eventually settled in the Asheville area to raise his family. Currently residing in Biltmore Forest, Gig and his wife are the proud parents of two children. With one child at a small private school and the other a student at a large public school, Gig is an invaluable resource when it comes to the local educational system. He enjoys the abundant outdoor activities and wonderful culture, arts and diversity offered in Asheville, and in his leisure time can be found hiking, hunting, watching college sports, skiing, traveling, and socializing at the neighborhood club.
Gig is a member of the Asheville Board of REALTORS®, North Carolina REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®. While he primarily works in the greater Asheville area, he is well-versed in locations from Black Mountain in the East to Tyron in the South, to Lake Toxaway, Cashiers, Lake Glennville and Highlands in the West, and areas past Buncombe County in the North.
