About Grant
The grand vision and insight of an artist, combined with a near obsessive attention to detail. A passion for both modern art and the preservation/redevelopment of historic buildings. A meticulous strategic planner yet prides himself on the ability to calmly address and coordinate solutions in moments of crisis. Highly ethical, but a reputation for being bullish for his clients. All these things describe the dichotomy that is Grant.
Grant, with degrees in Studio Art and Communications from Furman University, worked as a graphic artist for a major luxury publishing house prior to beginning his career in real estate in 2004. This publishing experience has afforded him an advertiser’s eye for establishing a polished and professional sales strategy, put to effective use for both his residential and commercial clients. Through community and civic involvement, he has his finger on the pulse of Lakeland; the opportunities, the personalities and the navigation of potential pitfalls.
Grant's is currently:
Chairman of Lakeland Downtown Development Authority
Vice President of Historic Lakeland, Inc.
Member Board of Directors, Polk Theatre
Member Lake Morton Historic Neighborhood Association
Member Dixieland Historic Neighborhood Association
Grant's past community involvement includes:
Member of the City of Lakeland Historic Preservation Board
Member of City of Lakeland Design Review Committee
Grant’s personal and profession network, compounded with his ability to read both personnel and situational environments, afford him the unique and highly honed skill of placing the right people with the right properties and projects.
Incorporating his passion for the old and new, Grant has been involved in the salvage, deconstruction, renovation and restoration of many of his region's landmark properties. He is honored to have played an integral role in the team that had the foresight to relocate the historic Tudor House. As a result, Cob & Pen has become one of Lakeland’s premier pub and event destinations, in the short time since its establishment.
In many ways Grant is like his ideal client: those who believe expectations exist only to be exceeded, the Type-A personalities, the visionaries and the risk-takers. The crazy ones, so to speak.
