Harold served as the Construction Coordinator for local chapter of Habitat for Humanity for 18 years. He also served on the Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors for 4 years. He served on the Nelson County Education Endowment Fund Board of Directors for 8 years, 4 of which he was the Chairman. He currently serves and has served on numerous church, school, and civic organizations, including the Board of Directors for the Old Kentucky Home Board of Realtors for 12 years. Harold has been married to his wife Sharon since 1979. They have 3 beautiful daughters: Carla, Jenna, and Emily, and 6 handsome grandsons.
