Hudson McMurtrie

Born in Philidelphia, PA in 1931. Moved to Buckannon, W.VA at the age of 15. Graduated from Buckannon Upshur High School then off to West Virginia Weslyn College for Pre-Dentistry for 2.5 years. Graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Business. Enlisted in the Air Force and got accepted for Pilot Training. After receiving my commissio and wings married Jean Glass and raised 5 children and now have 10 grand children and one great grandchild. Served in the mlitary as a flight instructor, fighter pilot, flew 129 combat missions in Viet Nam flying F-4's, later became aircraft commander of B-52's. Retired at 20 eyars as Lt.Colonel. Then became a Girl Scout executive for 6 years with the Citrus Council of Girl Scouts. After owning 4 houses, I decided my next career would be in Real Estate. Became Broker/Onwer in 1979 and opened our first office in 1980. Purchased one of the first RE/MAX Franchises in Florida in 1984. Have received the following awards: RE/MAX Broker-Owner of the Year, RE/MAX Spirit award and the Distinguished Service award twice. During my real estate career I have taken educational courses to receive the following designations: Graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI), Accreditted Buyers Agency (ABR), Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE), Certified Relocation Professional (CRP), and Seniors Real Estate Specialist(SRES). Founder of Sentinels of Freedom of Central Florida since 2007 - which is dedicated to mentoring and assisting severely handicapped wounded veterans.
