James Payne

Jim began his career in the finance field working first for GMAC (where he moved 10 times over a 20 year span - so he understands both the pain and pleasures of moving!) then Regions and SunTrust Banks. After many successful years in the corporate world, Jim opened his own business, Welcomemat Services, introducing new residents to locally owned businesses.

It was at Welcomemat where Jim was first introduced to Monte and The Mohr Group's "We Sell Homes for Free" program. After witnessing not only the benefit of saving homeowners thousands of dollars, but also seeing the team's dedication to providing an exceptional customer experience, Jim decided to join the group!

Jim is a native Tennessean, currently residing in Franklin. He graduated from the University of Tennessee (Martin) and also earned a MBA from Vanderbilt University. He is a past Board President and current volunteer at Franktown Open Hearts (FTOH), a local ministry serving inner city youth. Jim has been married to his lovely wife Robyn (since 1985) and has two fiercely independent grown daughters Taylor and Shelby. In his spare time, Jim loves to hunt and fish, often with one of the kids from Franktown (where he also co-founded the FTOH Hunt & Fish Club - Franktownopenhearts.com).
