About Janelle

From Hitchcock, South Dakota with a graduating class of 15, to Northern California by way of Albuquerque, Janelle finally made a permanent home in Colorado Springs in 1992. Breaking the mold of a traditional Realtor, she founded Walston Group Real Estate in 2003, knowing she wanted to chart her own course and have creative freedom to work on a variety of different real estate ventures. The move has paid off; on her own, Janelle facilitated over $70 million in sales volume in 2022. Not bad for a country girl from South Dakota.

Over the years she has worked in every sector of the real estate market from fixing leaky faucets at a property management company to designing and marketing million-dollar lofts. Because of her broad experience, Janelle truly provides full-service real estate representation.

Lofts: Since 2000, Janelle has been a partner in the development and construction of 10 unique loft projects in downtown Colorado Springs and Old Colorado City. With a strong presence in Colorado Springs’ central core, Janelle is known around town as “The Loft Lady,” and has earned a reputation with downtown building owners and developers as a knowledgeable sales agent and project partner. Historic rehabilitation: As a history buff, Janelle has enjoyed actively participating in the rehabilitation of more than 40 homes in just the last few years. She leads the Walston Group Special Projects team, and is hands-on in the development and design of each and every project.

New home construction and sales: In addition to the rehabilitation of older homes, Janelle’s Special Projects team has also designed and built a number of new homes from the ground up. She truly understands the complex process of new home construction from architectural and interior design to construction management and sales.

Besides her own ventures in new home construction, over the years Janelle has successfully represented a number of local and national homebuilders. She has been leading the talented sales and marketing team at JM Weston Homes since 2009.

Janelle is an avid supporter of downtown growth and the arts, including the Art on the Streets program. She is a seasoned traveler and has logged many miles visiting places all over the world, yet still makes time for the occasional tent camping excursion in the mountains of Colorado.
