After our first realtor failed to sell our home in 8.5 long months, we selected Janet Busillo over many other qualified realtors to take charge, and Janet delivered: Once back on the market, we had two good offers in just 4 days.
During the vetting process and the time it took to do some upgrades, we came to know Janet as a seasoned professional with an ironclad knowledge of the area as well as a sense of the market and the likely buyers for our property. She knew how to position our home to make it stand out among fierce competition from new construction and how to price it attractively and yet get us the most money, which can be tricky for the largest house in its neighborhood. We also came to appreciate Janet’s insights into the psychology of selling. For example, she didn’t want to describe every single special feature of our house in the listing but wanted instead to let the buyers have a few nice surprises during their tour.
Janet has at her disposal a team of skilled contractors who did good work at good prices and - very importantly - showed up as promised. She also turned out to be a tough negotiator during the settlement phase when she firmly squelched some frivolous requests presented by the buyers’ inspector.
Janet is an effective communicator with a frank and friendly manner. We always knew what her plans were, and why. Gun-shy from the experience with our first realtor, Janet inspired us to trust her and then proceeded to steer our home sale to a swift, happy conclusion. Janet is an excellent realtor and we strongly recommend her!
