About Janet
Janet Cheney, CAE, is the Chief Executive Officer of the
Champaign County Association of REALTORS®. Cheney started in this role for CCAR on July 1, 2022.
Prior to joining CCAR, she worked in association management with the American Oil Chemists’ Society, the American Dairy Science Association, National Council of Teachers of English and the Federation of Animal Science Societies.
Janet has extensive association management experience as well as membership relationship management, professional development and marketing expertise. She earned the highest designation of an association management professional, Certified Association Executive (CAE), designation in 2022.
Janet received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin Madison and her Master’s degree in education from the University of Illinois-Champaign. She has significant volunteer leadership experience, while serving as a member of the American Society of Association Executives and the Council of Engineering and Scientific Societies. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, running, cheering for the Badgers and spending time with family.
