Janice is no stranger to real estate. She has been a force in Shelbyville Real Estate since 1983. She has earned the lifetime multi-million dollar award, has served as President of Bedford County Board of Realtors, and has been recognized as Realtor of the Year.
As well as being a top real estate agent locally, Janice has always been committed to her profession at the State and National level. She has held many positions. Currently she is finishing her second term Chairing the Bylaws Committee for the Tennessee Association of Realtors as well as serving a stint on the Realtors Political Action Committee, the political arm of the Realtors association dedicated to protecting our private property rights. Janice is also the Vice-Chair of the Association’s Professional Standards Committee.
Janice is married to James A Carlton and has 3 daughters, Melody Teague, Dobie Mallard, and Jennifer Jarrell, as well as 7 grandchildren. Having a continuing interest in all things related to the home, Janice was active for many years with Bedford County’s Home Demonstration Clubs. She has also served as President of Bedford County’s Business and Profession Women’s Club.
For 35 years Carlton has been active in Bedford County women’s bowling leagues. She is a member of First United Methodist Church where she has enjoyed serving in the church women’s organization as well as various other Church related ministries.
