About Jason
Jason McCree Gentry grew up in the foothills of North Carolina in the small town of Elkin. Having a strong affinity for the built environment, he quickly set his eyes on the flourishing city of Charlotte. Jason attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in architecture in 2006. Locally he practiced with architecture firms Jenkins•Peer Architects and Perkins+Will before obtaining his real estate license in 2009.
The combination of Jason's architectural background with his real estate knowledge creates an unprecedented experience and advantage for his clientele. He often finds himself sketching through how an "almost- perfect" home can match their physical as well as budgetary needs, an extremely important asset in a market with struggling inventory. Additionally, he has a natural affinity for marketing architecturally unique homes, whether modern or historic.
Jason lives by the mantra of giving back and in 2018 he was called to serve Canopy REALTOR® Association as the youngest president in the history of one of the country's mega multiple listing services. It was during his tenure that the organization rebranded, built a new 56,000-square-foot LEED Silver headquarters and membership grew by more than 30 percent through strategic acquisitions. Jason also serves the National Association of REALTORS® and North Carolina REALTORS®.
In 2020 new opportunities led to the creation of NATIVE COLLECTIVE, a real estate partnership under Premier Sotheby's International Realty. As a founding owner, Jason is focused on providing the quintessential luxury real estate experience in the Charlotte region with a team composed of more than 30 years of architecture, construction and interior design experience.
In his free time, Jason is at his beach home in Charleston, South Carolina, where he is a member of the Kiawah Island Club. He enjoys traveling the world, fine wines and dining, biking, volleyball, the beach, architecture and spending quality time with friends, family, and his dog, Macho.
