Jen Nemerow has been a licensed real estate agent for over 20 years. Growing up in Northern Virginia, her parents’ success as real estate investors inspired her to attend Virginia Commonwealth University, where she graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Business and Real Estate and Land Development. Serving as President of Rho Epsilon Fraternity during her tenure, Jen became involved in community outreach and networking throughout the real estate industry. Working as a residential agent in college, she gained valuable industry insights which she then used to land a position in Corporate Real Estate with Capital One, serving in their Relocation/Space Planning and Design division. Longing to get back to her sales roots, Jen then went on to have successful careers as an entrepreneur in the fashion industry in retail and wholesale sales traveling the US building relationships with clients throughout the Southeast.
Jen returned to her love – residential real estate – and began a new chapter of her career in 2015 diving right in and quickly learning updated practices and technology to best serve her clients, amassing a record number of sales (150 transactions) in a little over 3 years. Joining the Jennifer Young Team in 2018 allowed Jen the opportunity to specialize as a listing agent, or seller’s representative, which means she has a legal obligation to work on the seller’s behalf – to get the highest possible price and the best terms available for the seller. Jen is customer driven and focused, dedicated to helping her customers close the best deal. She enjoys getting to know her customers and working with them, from start to finish, through the sales process. She specializes in unique situations and is an ideal and patient agent for divorce or death situations. Jen prides herself on staying informed and educated and holds 3 certifications that prepare her to be a top listing agent: PSA (Pricing Strategy Advisor), RENE (Real Estate Negotiation Expert) and SRS (Seller Representative Specialist).
Jen also enjoys working with Buyers who are on their first home journey, those looking to move-up to their next home and also works with many seasoned investors to find rental or flip properties. Patience and strong negotiation skills are Jen’s strongest qualities to help her Buyers get ideal terms and win in multiple offer situations. Jen is well versed in clients who need to Buy and Sell at the same time. Jen holds several buyer designations as well, ABR (Accredited Buyer’s Representative) and MRP (Military Relocation Professional) and AHWD (At Home With Diversity®).
Jen specializes in the Senior market and is passionate about helping seniors find suitable housing to meet their needs or families through downsizing situations. She is a patient and kind communicator and knowledgeable of resources available to senior clients. Jen holds the SRES (Seniors Real Estate Specialist®) designation and is trained to understand the financial, legal, and lifestyle challenges that seniors face, and can create a customized plan to meet those needs.
Jen is passionate about helping her community and the real estate profession. She regularly volunteers with local organizations, schools and booster clubs. She is currently serving as a Board Member at Greater Piedmont Realtors, and served as Chair of the Professional Development Committee and as a member of both the Public Policy Committee and the Good Neighbor Committee.
