1998 was a wonderful year because that was when Jill's family were lucky enough to find a beautiful river front cabin in Hood River! Being less than an hour from their home in Portland, it was perfect for weekend getaways. It did not take long for us to fall in love with the community- the walkable downtown area, the quick access to Mt. Hood for skiing, summer concerts and fishing, not to mention the virtual absence of gridlock, and of course the enchantment of the Columbia River Gorge.

The friendly, small-town feel pulled us in, so we decided to sell their house in the big city and make Hood River our permanent home. Nervous as we were to make such a big change, not a day goes by that we regret our decision. (Well, except for come wintertime when heavy snow requires us to chain up just to get out of our driveway.)

When Jill’s not in the office, she enjoys reading and holding "a real book". Snuggling with my Grandkids and when the wind slows down a bit getting out on the river for paddle boarding. Every other Friday she volunteers for Heart of Hospice and have the best job ever… Jill delivers flowers to patients and their families. When the school year comes around, she volunteers with Smart Reading and read to the littles. The best part is when you get to send them home with their new favorite book!

It is humbling to remember that it was a Don Nunamaker realtor who put them into their cabin all those years ago, and that's why it's a true honor to be on the team of the Gorge's #1 realty firm!
