Jim Courcier was born and raised in Westport, Connecticut. After working in the restaurant business in Annapolis, Md., Jim's love of skiing drew him west to live and ski in both Alta and Snowbird, Utah. After skiing his fifth season in the Wasatch Range, Jim headed farther west to explore the Tahoe area. While experiencing the 'big blue' lake, along with the variety of ski terrain that Tahoe had to offer, it was an easy decision for Jim to settle in and call Tahoe home. He started out as a ski instructor at Squaw Valley in the winter of 1988 and founded Lake Tahoe Parasailing the following spring. Jim and his wife, Linda, have recently sold their partnership in Tahoe Sailing Charters where he had been captaining the 'Tahoe Cruz' sailing sloop the past 10 summers. Much of his time is spent at the Lakeside real estate office next-door to the Tahoe City Marina.
He is an active member of the community and is presently a member of the North Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce. He has also been a board member of the Tahoe City Downtown Association and has been a long-time member of the Tahoe Yacht Club. He has lived and worked with his wife, Linda, on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe for the past 27 years. As an investor, he has bought and sold five of his own homes here in the North Tahoe and Truckee area. This has helped Jim to fully understand his client's needs. Jim's experience in buying, remodeling, and selling homes in the North Tahoe market, along with his local business proficiency, give Jim a unique set of skills as a North Tahoe Realtor. He understands that the resort real estate market is vastly different than other residential real estate. This has driven him to become one of the first realtors at Tahoe to earn the Resort and Second-Home Property Specialist (RSPS) certification. In the past decade, he has listed and sold many of the boat slips at the Tahoe City Marina and is especially familiar with most of the North and West Shore's lakefront homes and properties within lakefront amenity associations.
As a holder of the E-professional and Accredited Buyers Representative designations, he will apply the latest technology and networking solutions to meet his clients' real estate needs. He has helped many home, land and boat slip owners successfully list, market, and sell their properties.
