About Jim

Jim has been a broker since 1982 and was the owner and co-founder of Scott & Quinn Real Estate.
His extensive real estate experience gives him the ability to advise clients on all facets of this business. Jim owned Scott & Quinn Property Management, participated in over 30 limited partnerships, wrote commercial leases, bought and brokered many apartment buildings, and continues to operate his rental properties.
Jim has lived most of his life in San Diego. After graduating from San Diego State with a degree in Marketing, he served four years as a Marine officer, including a tour in Vietnam. He taught Junior College history after earning his Master’s degree and then later worked as a San Diego County Probation Officer. During those early working years, he started buying and selling apartments and rental homes, eventually finding his way into brokerage.
Jim believes his knowledge is a result of years of hands-on experience. He hopes to use what he has learned to benefit his clients.
