Jim Warjone is a Founding License Partner with Engel & Völkers Seattle-Eastside, and a practicing Real Estate Advisor specializing in land purchase, development, and entitlement. A veteran timber industry advocate and executive, Jim served for decades as CEO and Board Chair of Port Blakely Companies, a Northwest based global enterprise focused on sustainable forestry and land management. He led the drive to develop new economic opportunities and strengthen strategic and political relationships locally, nationally, and globally, including the acquisition of over 60,000 acres of timber in the United States and in New Zealand.
His efforts were instrumental in the original land purchase and entitlement of what is now the thriving community of Issaquah Highlands (east of Seattle), now home to over 12,000 residents. His commitment to sustainable forestry is evident in his co-founding of the National Alliance of Forest Owners (NAFO), which advocates for the sustainable management of more than 46 million acres of working timber forests across the United States.
Jim’s expertise and experience lead him to his current advisory and broker roles for large land parcels and land assemblages throughout the Pacific Northwest. Currently, he has multiple listings in Grant County, Washington, encompassing aviation, heavy industry, agriculture, solar, and residential uses.
He currently serves on the boards of four regional private companies and chairs two of them. He is also a consultant to several family businesses in succession strategies, and family governance systems and their implementation.
He has chaired the boards of Pacific Science Center, Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce, and Washington Business Roundtable, and is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College with a B.S. in Economics. When not working, Jim can be found in Sun Valley, Idaho tinkering with antique cars, mountain biking, walking dogs, and enjoying life with his wife Christine and their grandchildren.
