About Joan

Joan L. Kermath, a native of Michigan, bought her first property when she was 22 years old, beginning a lifetime of interest in Real Estate. Joan relocated to San Francisco in 1985 and Marin County in 1993.

Joan received her BSBA in Marketing and Economics from Central Michigan University and an MBA in Real Estate and Finance from University of Denver’s Daniels School of Business. Before becoming a licensed real estate agent in 2001, Joan enjoyed a successful career in sales and marketing at Pepsi Cola Bottling Group and fourteen years as a Fixed Income Securities Trader at Bank America Securities. Joan’s strong sales and marketing skills, with her unrivaled knowledge of interest rates and the credit markets, along with the robust marketing, Concierge Service and technology tools provided by COMPASS, is an integral part of her superior ability to present properties and negotiate complex transactions. Working with both buyers and sellers, Joan is creative and innovative in her problem-solving approach to a transaction. Her ability to listen well and act with efficiency is an asset for everyone involved.

Joan’s experience with design and construction coupled with her experienced service providers, assists her clients with home improvement decisions in anticipation of selling, and for upside potential when identifying homes for buyers.

Joan has been one of Marin County’s top producing Realtors since 2003 and quoted in local papers, the New York Times and Wall Street Journal.

Joan is also a member of the Marin Association of Realtors (MAR), California Association of Realtors (CAR), and National Association of Realtors (NAR) & various Chambers of Commerce. Working with the Junior League of San Francisco, The Guardsmen, and serving on the Executive Boards of several local schools and foundations has taught Joan about serving our communities and teamwork.

Joan is married and is the proud mother of two amazing children, a son and a daughter who both live in the Bay Area. She enjoys traveling, scuba diving, skiing, red wine, and time with her family.
