Jocelyn Coulston

Kelly Thomas, Co-Owner and Broker, is a native of Carroll County, Virginia. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s Degree in Property Management and has minors in both Real Estate and Communication Studies and also earning the professional designation of Residential Property Manager (RPM) from the National Apartment Association.

Upon moving to the back to the mountains of Virginia in 2007, Kelly worked as licensed appraisal trainee, earning over 2,000 hours of experience in the appraisal field and REALTOR for 3 years before partnering with long time friend, Derek Wall, to form Thomas & Wall Real Estate in 2010. Since then, Kelly and Derek have continued to build upon their foundation of honesty and integrity, growing the firm to over 14 trusted and experienced agents, also managing a portfolio of more than 40 single family residential properties. Kelly is a firm believer that success is not measured with a dollar sign, but with a track record of meeting her client’s needs and supporting others in their real estate goals.

Kelly, her husband, and two daughters reside in Floyd County, Virginia. Kelly’s hobbies include portrait and drone photography and watching her favorite TV show Finding Your Roots on PBS.

Before obtaining her real estate salesperson license in 2005, Kelly managed commercial properties for the federal government and private sector in the southeastern U.S. For over 3 years, Kelly’s portfolio covered 11 states and over one million square feet. The commercial spaces managed ranged from Class A office at every facility to custom warehouse space, airport hangars, and specialized computer and detention facilities. A partial list of the General Services Administration (GSA) tenants included Department of Homeland Security, Social Security Administration, US Department of Justice, US Attorneys, National Archives and Records Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Land Management, US Marshall and US Coast Guard. Private sector high end office and warehouse tenants included Krispy Kreme, Bell Davis & Pitt, and Dixon and Hughes.
