Joe is the Director of Real Estate Operations for SouthGate Companies. He guides land sales and development, leases available commercial properties, sells new construction homes, leads the process of when and where to build speculative and custom homes, and oversees all real estate deals. Joe earned the CCIM designation in March 2015, joining an elite network of commercial real estate professionals who have proven knowledge and experience in the industry.
Prior to joining SouthGate Companies, Joe spent eight years in Boulder, Colorado as a real estate broker where he was annually a multi-million dollar producer and managing broker.
Joe attended Wartburg College where he received a B.A. in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in leadership. He is licensed to sell real estate in Iowa.
Married to his wife, Vanessa, since 2007; they have a son, Hugo, who loves the outdoors, and twins born in July 2013, named Kona and Arlo. Joe is involved with Young Life Committee, the Iowa City Noon Rotary Club, and the Chamber of Commerce. He is a life-long Denver Broncos fan, loves running, enjoys playing softball and flag football; and is an Iowa Hawkeyes fan.
