Born and raised in Dearborn, Michigan, Johnny Hamood grew up in a family of five and enjoyed spending time with his large extended family. Johnny still lives in Dearborn with his wife and two children. In addition to spending time with his family, Johnny enjoys travel, playing golf, practicing yoga and cheering on his favorite team, the Duke Blue Devils. He also has trained and completed the “Tough Mudder” course at the Michigan International Speedway and enjoys physical fitness. Johnny earned his bachelor’s degree with honors from Hillsdale College in 2006. While at Hillsdale, he was a four-year scholarship basketball player, playing point guard and serving as the team captain for two years. Johnny’s time on the court instilled the discipline, sacrifice, determination and teamwork that he still uses in his career today. In 2010, Johnny earned his juris doctorate degree from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, Michigan. He was a Dean’s Scholar and served as the president of the Middle Eastern Law Student Association. Johnny gained great experience during school while working for the City of Dearborn Legal Department as a part-time law clerk. Johnny began his professional legal career working as an associate attorney at small civil litigation firm in Dearborn, and spent time working as a personal injury litigator at two prominent Michigan law firms. Johnny now specializes in business, real estate and medical provider litigation. Johnny provides many physicians and medical practices with counsel in both no-fault issues and general business issues. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan and United States Federal Court in the Eastern District.Community involvement is also very important to Johnny, as he is currently an active member of the Arab American Bar Association and the American Association for Justice. Johnny serves as a Board Member for the HYPE Athletics Community, which is deep-rooted, non-profit community based organization that partners with federal, state, and local agencies, corporations and foundations to create and strengthen infrastructures that support the positive development of Wayne County youth through athletic participation and competition, education tutoring and literacy development, and social awareness.
