About John

As a real estate agent in Boca Grande since 2004, there’s very little you can say about the island that John Harms doesn’t already know and love. A natural appreciation for the island’s beauty that began after a family visit in 1998, he passes along both cultural and market expertise to all looking to buy and sell property along its exclusive shores. He specializes in general and luxury real estate services and single-family and multi-family development throughout Placida and Boca Grande.

As of August 2022, John had achieved more than $400 million in sales volume in his career. With $100 million in sales in the last two years, he is among Englewood’s top five agents in sales volume. John graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Miami University in Ohio in 1997 and began working in sales for Compuware Corp in Detroit, Mich. There, he fine-tuned an innate sales ability before transitioning into the company’s regional sales office in Chicago, Ill. as an outside mainframe sales rep. Tiring of the cold winters in the Midwest, and after doing some real estate business on the East Coast of Florida, John relocated to Boca Grande in 2004 to pursue a full-time career in real estate. Upon arrival, he hit the ground running and immediately obtained his license followed by a broker associate license in 2006.
