About John

John joined Coldwell Banker in 1988 bringing with him an extensive background in real estate and construction management. The Olson name carries a strong tradition in California real estate. Coldwell Banker begain it's residential operations in Southern California with the acquisition of Forest E. Olson Inc., then the largest independently owned residential brokerage firm in Southern California. Growing up in the family business, John carries an intuitive knowledge and understanding of real estate and people, which has facilitated a strong success record since joining the firm.

Prior to affiliating with Coldwell Banker, John owned and operated The Olson Company, specializing in commercial and residential construction. A general contractor since 1979, John's construction knowledge and real estate background has resulted in many successful relationships with local residential builders and architects.

John has consistently been a top producer at Coldwell Banker with membership in Coldwell Banker's Presidents Club, Presidents Circle, and Presidents Elite International. For John's continued achievements and longevity in the real estate business, Coldwell Banker has awarded him the designation of Executive Sales Director.

For the past twenty-five years John has had the opportunity to serve as one of the marketing directors for Wildflower Estates an exclusive gated custom home community of home sites located in the community Olivenhain just north of prestigious Rancho Santa Fe. As director, he has assisted some of the counties' top custom homebuilders including Weir Bros., Duncan and Sons, Marotta Construction, Venture Pacific, and Castillero Design and Construction in the sales and marketing of their custom homes.

John joined forces with residential land specialist Chuck Gifford from Coldwell Banker's Rancho Santa Fe Office in 1995. John and Chuck were awarded the positions of Directors of Sales for Wildflower Estates combining sales and marketing expertise from the Rancho Santa Fe and Encinitas markets. After the very successful project at Wildflower Estates John will be transitioning to his new office at Coldwell Banker Encinitas scheduled to open its doors in the first quarter of 2019 located on Encinitas Blvd.

The personal commitment of John is to the success of his clients. Consulting, educating and informing his clients to assist them with their real estate decisions. Helping his clients achieve their goals has facilitated John's success and longevity in the real estate business.
