John Snyder is one of the top producing brokers in both Vermont and New Hampshire and has consistently been the top selling broker in Woodstock Vermont. In the past 5 years he has assisted over 60 buyers and sellers of luxury properties sold/closed at prices over $1 million. In 2021, John represented the sellers of the three most expensive properties to sell in Woodstock (all over $2 million) and in 2022 represented the seller and assisted the buyers in a record-setting private transaction in Woodstock at $6+ million.
Yet John also enjoys helping his local friends and neighbors with their real estate needs. John lives in Woodstock, Vermont. Seventeen years ago, he and his wife, Ellen, relocated their young family to the area from CT, where he ran a $30 billion portfolio management team at JP Morgan Investment Management in New York, then was head of marketing and clients for a $2 billion private investment fund in Greenwich CT. John has travelled extensively - 28 countries on 5 continents, and 46 of the U.S. states - and has been actively involved in our local community and served on or chaired a number of local non-profit boards, the zoning board, and two school boards. John earned a BA-History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and an MBA from Cornell University, during which time he was selected to attend the London Business School, where he earned highest honors
John and Ellen have designed, renovated, and built many lovely homes over the years, and thoroughly enjoy the process. John is always enthusiastic about sharing those design-renovation ideas and experiences with his clients. John loves playing live music, being outdoors with friends and family, stacking firewood, mowing fields, spending time with their two Jack Russell terriers (Poppy and Finn), snowshoeing, sledding, and hiking. John absolutely loves the quality of life and the healthy, beautiful outdoors in this special part of New England.
