About John
John L. Taylor was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois. He began his academic pursuits at Grandview Junior College, in Des Moines, Iowa. After two years at Grandview, he eventually found his college home at Brayant & Stratton Business College in Buffalo, New York. He would later graduate from Brayant & Stratton with a degree Business.
Upon returning to his hometown of Peoria, he began his professional career as a consultant for the Northside Action Council-Community Organization. His role at Northside Action Council-Community Organization focused on neighborhood revitalization through construction and redevelopment. This role was vital in creating co-ops grocery stores in communities had been abandoned by larger grocery stores or that grocery chains did not exist.
His career with Northside Action Council-Community Organization spanned 12 years while he simultaneously managed an insurance company. This experience became the cornerstone of John’s interest in Real Estate and his determination to help Families know the benefit and joy of being home owners and home investors.
In 1990, John relocated to San Diego, California and transitioned into corporate finance as a banker for Great Western Bank. He remained with Great Western Bank as a Loan Officer until 1995, when Great Western was bought out by Washington Mutual.
It was at this time that he decided to venture out further in Real Estate and received his Real Estate License. Being a very hands-on learner, John continued expanding his knowledge in the development of Real Estate working on several construction builds while enhancing his knowledge of the Real Estate business under several brokers. His experience as a Real Estate Broker coupled with his experience in Mortgage Brokering coupled with his constant thirst for knowledge has given John an understanding of the business that allows him to successfully thrive in multiple capacities.
In 2002, John decided to branch out for himself and created Midwest Financial Incorporated and earned his license as a Mortgage Broker. Since then, Midwest Financial Incorporated has seen tremendous growth and continually adds value to the marketplace, one family at a time.
