About John Wayne

Duke Rountree has always held the Ocala National Forest as a special place in his heart, which is why he moved and put down his roots in 1986. There was a need for a real estate brokerage in his area, so Duke did what no one else had and opened Rountree Realty. The goal of Rountree Realty is to provide the best customer service, best knowledge, best technology, best tools, and best marketing for every customer. He has been a realtor for 25+ years now.

Having served 14 years with the Ocala Marion County Association of Realtors, Duke has been the MLS President (2x), Vice President, Treasurer, OMCAR President, President-Elect, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer. He has also served on committees for Community Awareness, Professional Standards, Realtor/Builder, Global, Budget and Finance, and Education. Duke has shown versatility through all of his roles. He has taken over 600 hours of continuing education in real estate, related to customer service, sales strategies, business management, networking, ethics, the real estate market, budgeting, technology of many different aspects, marketing, negotiations, and much more. In recognition of his success, he has been provided a Distinguished Member Service Award and Realtor of the Year.

Duke is a REALTOR who is described as helpful and down to earth and takes an active interest in his clients’ lives, getting to know their families and maintaining friendships with them long after closing the sale. Whether he’s helping out in his community, reaching out to past customers to check in on their lives, or doing giveaways to provide some joy in trying times, Duke prides himself on curating unique experiences that add positivity to the realtor-client relationship, even after closing.

When he’s not helping clients with real estate, Duke volunteers for the Take Stock in Children program, has served as a Public Education Board Member, and is a part of the Salt Springs Civic Association Service. While he enjoys all water activities including boating, waterskiing, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking, he also loves riding ATVs and SXSs in the Ocala National Forest. In his downtime, Duke spends quality time with his wife April, and their two children Skylar and Lauren.
