John is the owner of Zenxtruct Residential, a development company that focuses on innovative development strategies and offsite construction methods to produce sensible, high-quality housing. His brokerage, Platinum Moon Properties, is a real estate services and consulting firm that specializes in providing development services to non-profits for the production of single- and multi-family housing, as well as assisting first time homebuyers to purchase their first homes.
His experience in residential real estate development spans over two decades, where he has overseen the production of single family detached home communities, urban condominium projects, and low-income apartment buildings. As a Senior Manager and Development Consultant for various affordable housing developers, he has managed the funding, entitlement, and development of nearly 1,000 affordable apartments from San Diego to Los Angeles, utilizing more than $350 Million of capital from Tax Credit Equity, Tax Exempt Bonds, and various federally and state-funded grant and loan programs.
Prior to working in the affordable housing industry, John also directed sales programs, construction operations, and “dirt-to-closeout” development of residential, for-sale communities. While at K. Hovnanian Homes, he managed the production of over $400 Million in residential communities, from developments of multi-million-dollar estate homes in Chula Vista, to high-rise and mid-rise condominium buildings in Downtown San Diego. The scope of his experience also includes managing sales programs that have produced over 450 closed escrows, in-depth market analysis, implementation of strategic marketing programs, and personal negotiations of more than 150 residential sales contracts.
