About Joseph
Joseph F. Martignetti, Jr. is the founding Principal of Ventana Property Services. Since founding Ventana in 1991, Mr. Martignetti has built a portfolio of residential and commercial properties that has established Ventana as one of the largest third-party property management and real estate service organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area. Other accomplishments include the development and construction management of commercial and residential projects throughout the Bay Area.
Prior to founding Ventana, Mr. Martignetti was a Partner and Vice President of Prometheus Development Company, specializing in residential and commercial development, financing, leasing and project management. During his eight years with Prometheus, he was responsible for more than $500 million of development projects, many of which received industry awards for excellence. He also spent considerable time overseeing the asset management of the Prometheus $2 billion commercial and residential portfolio.
Previously, Mr. Martignetti was a manager for the Xerox Corporate Real Estate Division, specializing in commercial real estate development, financing and property management. During his seven year tenure, he was instrumental in completing the entitlement and development process for numerous Xerox Palo Alto facilities in the Palo Alto Research Center campus and other San Francisco Bay Area locations.
Mr. Martignetti earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from Stanford University. He is a licensed architect, registered civil engineer, licensed general contractor and a licensed California real estate broker.
Mr. Martignetti is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, the American Institute of Architects, and the National Society of Professional Engineers. He is past President and a Board of Director of the Palo Alto Housing Corporation, a nonprofit organization facilitating low-income housing. Mr. Martignetti also serves on the Castilleja School Board and has served on several other boards including the Friends of the Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo, and the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Martignetti is a Consulting Professor in the graduate school at Stanford University where he lectures and teaches real estate related courses.
