About Joshua
Joshua Johnson is a Senior Director Investments in the firm’s founding Palo Alto office and specializes in investment sales of retail, industrial, office, and redevelopment properties. Josh joined Marcus & Millichap in 2013 after working as a commercial real estate appraiser in Silicon Valley for ten years. Josh and his partner, Kirk Trammell, work to preserve their client’s capital and improve their cash flow through strategic tax-deferred exchanges. Since joining Marcus & Millichap, Josh has participated in more than 300 sale transactions with a total consideration in excess of $2.0 billion.
Prior to moving into brokerage, Josh worked at CBRE as a senior commercial real estate appraiser. He has experience valuing a wide range of property types throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, including: redevelopment sites, retail centers, office buildings, industrial/R&D properties, market-rate and affordable multi-family housing, residential subdivisions, self-storage, and hotels. During his time as an appraiser, he analyzed properties in all stages of the development cycle and has valued raw land, proposed developments, non-stabilized assets, stabilized properties, and redevelopment and repositioning opportunities. Josh’s comprehension of complex valuation issues and ability to analyze properties across the development spectrum allows his clients to make well-informed decisions.
