Karen Fairty

Karen Fairty is a real estate expert in Marin County. As a long time resident, Karen is deeply connected to the people, landscape, and the lifestyle that makes Marin a place unlike any other in the Bay Area.
With an extensive background in asset management and leasing in commercial real estate, Karen made the change to residential real estate in 2003. A consistent top producer in Marin County, Karen represents both buyers and sellers throughout the county and has sold $250M+ in her career.

Karen was raised in the New York City area and moved to Washington, DC after college. Karen began her real estate career with LaSalle Partners (currently known as Jones Lang LaSalle), in Washington, DC in 1989. In her role as a Leasing Specialist, Karen was responsible for the successful marketing, budgeting and leasing of several office towers in Washington, DC and reporting to institutional owners. In 1998, Karen moved to the Bay Area, and started her career in residential real estate shortly thereafter working with Hill & Co. Real Estate in San Francisco. In her first year as a residential real estate agent, Karen was awarded “Rookie of the Year” and has consistently remained in the top 10% throughout her career. From 2007 – 2019, Karen was a Top Producer with Pacific Union and Vanguard Properties. Karen joined Compass in August, 2020, and is skilled at navigating complex scenarios in high pressure situations, while ensuring her clients’ experiences are smooth and seamless. Karen possesses an intimate knowledge of the Marin County neighborhoods, schools, market conditions and local economy.

Karen currently resides in downtown Mill Valley and is very active in the community. She contributes a portion of her commissions to various charities, including Home for a Home, a non-profit providing housing in Guatemala. Karen loves living in Marin and enjoys the trails on Mt Tam, Stinson Beach and playing tennis at Mill Valley Tennis and Marin Tennis clubs.
