Karen Tarantola brings over 25 years of Bay Area real estate experience to Vanguard Properties. She enjoys all aspects of the home buying and selling process and is an experienced teacher in perpetual collaboration with clients to educate them on the housing market, the sales process, and the intricacies of San Francisco neighborhoods. She currently resides in the West Portal neighborhood of San Francisco.

Originally from Berkeley, Karen has traveled the world as part of a long-standing military family. She has particularly enjoyed living in Germany, Alaska, and Okinawa (where she got married). She pursued real estate out of a desire to intimately know the Bay Area while building tight-knit communities with realtors and clients. She appreciates Vanguard Properties’ culture of support as she continues to provide exemplary service to clients all across San Francisco. Karen is in constant service of her community and is a board member on the West Portal Neighborhood Association, the West Portal Merchants Association, and P.E.O., an international women’s organization developed in the 1800s to provide financial and emotional support to women across the world seeking to elevate themselves through education.
