Kate helped us purchase our first home and we could not have been more happy. She was with us every step of the way, from explaining the overall process to details during and after close.

Kate represented us in an extremely competitive market and set us up for success through multiple offers before finally closing. Throughout the process, Kate was never pushy and we always felt that Kate represented our best interests and was looking out for what we wanted. She answered all of our questions and laid out all of the available options.

What I appreciated most was her timely communication and straightforward answers. Kate was always extremely prompt in returning our calls/texts throughout the day. She kept us updated every step along the way. Kate also took care of much of the detail work so that we didn’t have to worry.

I would easily recommend Kate to any homebuyer. Aside from the excellent homebuying process she facilitated, Kate was personable and fun to be around throughout our search. We couldn’t have asked for a better first time agent.

Kate and Denise at Urban Nest are great and friendly realtors. They both worked hard to find a house that met our high expectations during a period of record-low house inventory. They helped us land our dream house here in Portland in a very competetive market. As first-time home buyers, they helped us understand the home-buying process and ensured that all steps along the way (e.g., lender, home inspections, construction estimates, escrow, etc.) happened in a timely manner and nothing fell through the cracks. They've also been a great resource for finding reliable plumbers, house cleaners, movers, and other service companies. We highly recommend Kate and Denise to anyone looking to buy a house anywhere in the Portland area, as they will both have your back during the entire home buying process.

We cannot say enough good things about our experience working with Kate! We originally contacted her after seeing a listing she’d sold which closely matched our desired style, location, etc., and hoped that she might be able to guide us through our own Portland home search. She and her partner, Denise, truly came alongside us on this journey, getting to know our family of four’s needs, personalities, and preferences, while deftly balancing this with their own insight, expertise, and experience. They helped us think through so many aspects of what would make a house the perfect fit for us, and were incredibly patient as we took our time considering the homes we’d viewed. Though at times we felt we were “threading a needle” with our list of hopes and requirements (e.g., geographic area, aesthetic, size, outdoor space, etc.), we looked forward to each house showing with Kate and Denise. They are not only fun, humorous, and a joy to work with, but we knew that they would lend a unique, discerning perspective. The team approach that Kate and Denise employ works wonderfully; they were incredibly accessible and prompt with their communication and availability. We were impressed by their skill and intuition in negotiating offers with potential sellers, and endlessly grateful for their bold advocacy, levity, and encouragement. In the end, we have purchased and moved into a home that is better than we could have hoped for. We’ve commented over and over, “We can’t believe we got this house!” and feel so thankful for the role that Kate and Denise played in this (and the excitement that they shared with us). Kate Steinberg is a fantastic agent. It was a pleasure to work with her on my recent sale of a Portland condo. Kate handled all aspects of the sale with professionalism, efficiency, sensitivity, and responsiveness to all of my concerns as the entire transaction -from prepping the unit for sale through to closing -happened while I was 3000 miles away in my NJ home! Kate provided multiple updates on where things were at in the process and was always available to take my calls. I started out not knowing how I could manage this transaction from a distance and under the constraints of Covid 19 - . Through the expert care of Kate, co-agent Denise and the Urban Nest Realty , it turned out to be a mostly stressless and successful deal. I am pleased to provide this recommendation.

As first-time home buyers, Kate was a fantastic realtor to work with. She fought for us the whole way and helped us find our dream house. She was very patient with us, and devoted an incredible amount of time to walking us through the process as well as walking us through a huge diversity of houses in many different neighborhoods. Kate was very responsive, and we often joked that she was our personal realtor because she worked around the clock for us. She had wonderful contacts that were quick and professional, and a home inspector who wasn’t afraid to be brutally honest about a home’s condition. Kate consistently went above and beyond for us and we are so grateful for everything she did to get the deal closed. We think of her not only as our realtor, but as a friend. She’s a truly warm and caring person, and devoted to finding you the right house.

Kate helped us find our first home! We were recommended by a family member to her and her partner Denise. We really appreciated all the help to navigate the process while moving from another state. She listened to our wants and needs very attentively. We came into town and looked at nearly 30 homes in 2 days to make the most of our time! We found our dream home that weekend and put in an offer. Kate guided us through a multiple offer situation and we got our perfect home! But the help didn't stop there as she set up many appointments with people for various projects we want to do. Kate and Denise were great at quickly answering questions and being there for us through it all. We can't thank her and Denise enough! If friends or we ever need another realtor, we will definitely call them.

We had the pleasure of working with Kate alongside Denise Wolfe in the selling of our home this past spring. – Yes, 2020.

Luckily in a year that has required super heroes to do… well, almost anything, we had the dynamic duo to sell our home!

My wife and I had known Denise for a number of years, but we got to know Kate very well through the whole process.
She was right there to help keep us focused on our goals, and not become bogged down and overwhelmed by everything else going on around us and the world.

In the end, it was Kate who (literally) carried us over the finish line.

The new owners of our house had a very strict / inflexible move-in date and time which happened to be 5pm on the 5th of July…

Now, coordinating a U-haul pick up on a holiday weekend during a pandemic so you can vacate your home on a strict deadline is NOT how we envisioned celebrating our independence or our move, but that’s where we were.

It was all hands on deck, and Kate was right there in the mix; hauling the last things out of the house, packing our remaining Goodwill items into her own car to drop off later, doing the final sweeping and cleaning up the rooms AS THE NEW OWNERS WERE BRINGING THEIR FURNISHINGS IN!

It was crazy to say the least, but we were finally moved, out and just in time… or so we thought. One item remained. Our cat, Jake, had decided (quite wisely) that he’d had enough of our nonsense and was going to forge out on his own- maybe try his luck with the new owners? Who knows? Either way he was nowhere to be found. Kate stayed behind with my wife and helped look for him while I went to unload the truck.

That night, exhausted, I mentioned to my wife that we were so fortunate that Kate was willing to drop what she was doing and join us and our friends in the mad frenzy to move out of our house. In all the rushing around, I recalled I hadn’t had a chance to thank her or even say “hello”. My wife told me that Kate wouldn’t have responded if I did. I looked at her quizzically and that’s when she told me Kate had had surgery on her jaw the day before and she wasn’t able to speak because her jaw was wired shut. At that point mine fell wide open. I just couldn’t believe it. She went so far above and beyond – all while recovering from surgery! It was incredible.

So, not only is Kate an amazing realtor. She’s a card-carrying badass in mine or anybody’s book!

Without a question she'll definitely go to the mat to help you buy or sell your home… and even find your cat.
