Kevin Platz

In January 2007, Kevin joined the Cedar Rapids Area Association of REALTORS® as Chief Executive Officer. He reports directly to the Board of Directors and is responsible for managing the staff, financial and asset management, strategic planning, oversight of government affairs and community involvement, continuing education and public relations, and event planning.

Prior to joining CRAAR, Kevin was Manager, Economic Development with Priority One, the economic development arm of the Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce. Kevin was responsible for the recruitment of new companies and existing business projects. In his two years with Priority One, Kevin was instrumental in creation of hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars in capital investment in the Corridor.

Kevin’s work experience includes four years as the Director of Membership Development for the Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce. In this role, he oversaw the retention of the 1,800 member organization, with a membership budget over $1,000,000 as well as recruitment of new members. During his time as Director of Membership Development, the Area Chamber won numerous awards through the National Association for Membership Development.

Kevin is a 2004 graduate of the Leadership for 5 Seasons program, a 2007 40 under 40 recipient, a member of Cedar Rapids Downtown Rotary, Treasurer of the Uptown District, and has been involved with Junior Achievement, the Marion Jaycees, and the Marion Metro Kiwanis.
