About Laura
For most homeowners in Washington, a house is not just a home; it is also their most valuable financial asset. Laura takes a pressure-free approach to help her clients find a property that they connect with emotionally and want to call “home,” and then provides them with all the tools and information they need to get it – at the right price.
Recognized Washingtonian Magazine as "one of 99 people you need to know in Washington Real Estate," Laura is a third-generation real estate Associate Broker and has her license in the Washington, DC metro area for 26 years. She began her career in commercial real estate then transitioned into residential real estate in 2005 and has closed over $700 million in transactions. Laura has lectured on Real Estate Investment at her alma mater, Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, and interviewed about the Washington market by The Washington Post, and frequently publishes articles on the DMV metro area real estate. She is recognized as "Trulia" and "Realtrends" as one of the top real estate agents in America.
Laura's team offers client-only contacts for the best of the best industry resources from settlement companies, home inspectors, and interior designers to life essentials -- pediatricians, dentists, veterinarians, etc. Her personal experience with these special services and vendors help her clients continue to have a positive experience well beyond the settlement table.
Laura donates a portion of each of her commissions to her favorite charities. She served as Parents' Association President from 2015-2018 and was a six-year member of the Board of Directors of Washington Episcopal School, served on the Board of Directors of the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy, and is on the Board of the Steuart Family Council.
Laura has served on the Board of the Washington Lee University DC Alumni Chapter, the Teen and Young Adult Health Connection of Montgomery County, was a founding member of the nursery committee at Washington National Cathedral, and an Auction co-chair and room parent at her children’s schools.
In 2022-2023, she is thrilled to serve for a second year as co-chair for the Bishop Walker School (a tuition-free, Episcopal Elementary School for boys that serves Washington's Wards 6, 7, and 8) Annual Dinner at the Washington National Cathedral.
Laura lives in McLean, Virginia with her husband, two children, and two lab mixes. When she is not working for and with her clients, you can find her supporting educational causes in Washington's underserved communities, running along the Capital Crescent trail or near the Cathedral Close, or volunteering at her children's Washington DC and Potomac, MD schools.
