Laurie moved to Whatcom County from Canada 25 years ago, after marrying her husband, Maurice. Together they have 4 children and lots of sweet grand babies. For 15 years she worked for the Ferndale School district in the Special Ed department. Her greatest accomplishment is obtaining a first-degree black belt in kajukempo karate. She became interested in real estate after many years of buying, investing, building and being a landlord. She has chosen blu.ink real estate to streamline her business which gives her more time to focus on her clients, which is her highest priority.
When Laurie started in the industry, she was on a team which gave her the education to build a strong business! She understands that being on a team is not the right fit for all, so using a mentor may be a better choice. She was a teacher’s assistant and an instructor for karate for many years! She loves to teach and feel enthusiastic about the real estate industry. Her first year on the team, she closed 10 transactions and learned a lot. Her second year, her business plan allowed for growth and for her to leave the team and work on her own. Year two was successful and she closed 11 transactions. During this transition, she found her and found her niche was with first time home buyers! Of course, she loves all aspects of the business, she loves teaching people! Her fourth year is coming to an end, and she has closed over 60 transactions! She is happy to share what she has learned over the three years…. what works, what doesn’t, while allowing you to be creative and build your own business.
