Lawrence Capitelli

Laurie has a long history in Berkeley and at Red Oak.

He came to Berkeley as a Cal student in 1965. After teaching for almost a decade, he joined Red Oak Realty in 1978. He became sales manager in 1998, bringing a broad range of experience in commercial as well as residential sales. Laurie's real estate experience also includes serving as president of the Berkeley Association of Realtors and state director of the California Association of Realtors. In 2000, he became a Red Oak Realty partner.

In 2004, with his election to the Berkeley City Council, he stepped back from full-time management. In 2008, Red Oak turned management of the company over to Vanessa Bergmark (General Manager). In 2012 ownership of the company shifted completely from the original founders and Laurie to Vanessa.

He previously served on the Berkeley City Council while also serving as a board member of the Elmwood Theatre Foundation. He served on the Berkeley Public Schools Fund for over 25 years. He also has served on the Berkeley Planning Commission and the Zoning Adjustment Board for the City.
