Marcus graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Gardner-Webb University in 1976, where he was a scholarship athlete. He played on the football team, where he also served as captain. After graduation, Marcus began a teaching and coaching profession in Georgia. He was head football coach and athletic director at Forrest Park High School and was part of the coaching staff at Morrow High School when they won the state AAAA championship title.
In 1986, Marcus decided to embark on a new career path and acquired his real estate license. He worked primarily in the resale of single-family residences in the South Metro area of Atlanta. In 1989, he became a licensed real estate broker. After becoming a broker, he was recognized by the South Metro Board of Realtors as Realtor of the Year and a Lifetime Member of the Million Dollar Club.
One of his favorite projects during that time was being part of the real estate group that built and sold Georgia National Golf Club in Henry County. In 2002, he decided to take his career to the next level with the formation of his own company, Trivette Realty. In addition to starting his own company, he also returned to football coaching as a volunteer at Eagles Landing Christian Academy until 2005. Trivette Realty specializes in resale homes, new construction and lot and land sales.
Marcus bought a lake home at Lake Oconee in 1999 and has since enjoyed selling real estate in the surrounding communities. Marcus loves living in Greensboro and in his spare time can be found on his pontoon boat with his wife, two daughters and three grandchildren.
