She is extremely well informed on her market, provides prompt and honest feedback, and gently guided my husband and I through our very long search, remaining patient with us at every twist, turn, and challenge. When she listed our late father's home in Asheville, she was tasked with working for not just one client, but 7 siblings (one a Realtor herself) - plus spouses. Margaret handled this daunting task with grace and ease. Margaret sold my house and was outstanding in her performance. She did a great job up-front, by getting to know the house, me, and my situation and never made elaborate promises. She approached every obstacle methodically and treated me in the manner in which I asked for in the beginning.

My situation was difficult and extra cumbersome but, her patience and responsiveness to my and the home’s issues worked out wonderfully. She really helped the sale by expressing her views on issues with the home’s presentation in a way in which I understood the importance of making it right before pictures were taken.

In the end, my house was only on the market for 4 days before we accepted an offer $25,000 above asking price. I am now ready to buy a house in Hendersonville and look forward to using her services again.

From my experience, Margaret Vestal is simply the best NC realtor for so many reasons. First of all, Margaret really listened and understood our needs to find the right house for us. We had a long “want” list for our perfect house, and Margaret kept us informed of homes that met or came close to meeting our requirements. Secondly, Margaret is patient and flexible; Margaret did not make us feel rushed and remained open to new ideas. Thirdly, just a few minutes after meeting Margaret, we instinctively knew we could trust her and that she had our best interests at heart. She advised us to get preapproval for a mortgage early in case we found the perfect house (which was key to getting the house we eventually purchased), and she gave us recommendations for great mortgage lenders and a settlement attorney. When people would ask us who our realtor was, they would immediately react, proclaiming “Margaret is the best.” And here’s the kicker: we were doing all of this from 500 miles away! When we saw houses of interest, Margaret would quickly get appointments to show them to us via Zoom. She looked at potential houses as we would, pointing out areas of concern to us. Furthermore, Margaret knows the market quite well. She was honest with us and let us know which homes would likely stay in our budget once the bidding started (and she was correct every time on houses that we showed interest in). Within a few hours of our perfect house becoming available, Margaret really went above and beyond for us. She quickly scheduled an appointment to show it to us virtually, made recommendations for a solid bid on the house, and got all the paperwork done in just a few hours to compete with other bids. In today’s market, having your first bid accepted on your first house is almost unheard of, but we did it with Margaret’s help! But Margaret’s help did not stop here: she recommended inspections and was present for them, she answered so many of our questions via email and by phone, and she took away some of the stress involved in buying a home (especially when we were living so far away). I cannot say enough good things about Margaret and her expertise. She is just the best!

My spouse and I have dealt with 8 realtors in our 55 years of marriage. Margaret was our 7th and 8th. She is hands down the best. Never made us feel clueless even though we were at times. Patient, attentive, helpful in finding a lender (she gave us a list of several possibilities). When we needed to find a painter, and later a handyman, she gave us names of local workmen who other clients had given positive feedback on. Margaret is friendly, engaging, genuine. When we first thought of moving to Asheville, we told Margaret we were undecided and asked if she could send us listing in our price range. At the time we were residing in Missouri. 8 months later we got serious and came to Asheville and Margaret showed several condos to us. The experience was such that 7 years later when we decided we needed a bigger place, we called on Margaret to help us again. Her advice helped us navigate a difficult 4 months when we decided to buy our new place, then sell our condo. It was a stressful time for us as we needed 2 loans to make it work. In the age of the internet, many wonder why they should bother with a realtor, and I admit to first starting my venture with that mindset. After several false leads from well meaning neighbors who felt their friends and relatives would surely buy my house, I decided to put the sale in the hands of a professional. Margaret Vestal was recommended to me by friends who had bought their house with her help. I was immediately comfortable with Margaret and never felt the need to interview another agent. High quality photos were taken, the house was priced correctly, and a great listing description resulted in immediate interest in the dead of winter. There was a contract on my house 4 days after it was listed, and I recently closed.

Margaret also helped me with the purchase of my new home. There were some last minute surprises from the inspection, and Margaret knew exactly how to work with the builder to get the issues corrected.

Real estate transactions are stressful and they are a huge investment. Not only did I rely on Margaret’s expertise to wrangle the legalities, I also benefited from her calm and even keeled demeanor to manage my worries. Margaret gets a 5 star rating from me.
