“I started my career in real estate just out of college,” Maria says. “I found apartments for all of my friends. Some people could only spend $300 per month, but I would hunt down a bargain. It wasn’t my job, but I just loved doing it!”

After working as a copywriter with J. Walter Thompson and for a high-end wine distributor, Maria moved back to Winnetka with her own family. There she found herself helping friends who wanted to move to the suburbs as well.

“I’d find myself with the Realtor and my friend in the front seat, and I’d be in the back, offering advice as to which neighborhoods were hot and where the babysitters lived,” Maria recalls. “After I found houses for three friends, I realized that I should follow my true passion.”

Maria’s enthusiasm for real estate has translated into ten years of consistently being a top producer on the North Shore. She has worked with couples moving up from the city to the suburbs, families living in town who are looking to move up to their dream house, and with those relocating to the Chicago area and have no idea where they should land. A lifelong Winnetka native, she knows the pros and cons to most every street on the North Shore. She can help navigate schools, park districts, commuting options as well as things like finding a dry cleaner or pediatrician.

After ten years selling with a boutique firm in Winnetka, Maria made the move to @properties in 2009. “I was floored by their amazing marketing and forward thinking. I’m a bit of a techie myself, and loved how they integrated technology and personal relationships. They have given me so many cool tools to make me a stronger agent. My clients have loved the changes and I feel so supported.”
