About Marie

Marie’s background prior to real estate was mostly in the legal profession, making her a seasoned multi-tasker. Coupled with a keen interest in art and having remodeled three personal homes, she brings a strong combination of multi-tasking and vision to the table, along with 16 years of experience.

She grew up in McDowell County and returned to Western North Carolina in 2003 after 16 years in San Francisco. She attended Appalachian State University and then graduated from Peace College in Raleigh with an Associate Degree in Business. She also later studied art at Georgia State University.

After returning to North Carolina, she earned her real estate license and subsequently went on to get her Accredited Buyer Representative, Accredited Luxury Home Specialist, and NAR GREEN designations. She also brings to the table over 25 years of legal experience, making her a seasoned multi-tasker with a high level of attention to detail.

Her husband, Billy Sproul, and her are both artists. She has dabbled in a variety of creative arenas but currently enjoys working with clay and mixed media. She is also a gardener, an occasional (not-so-good!) golfer, and she’s in love with her two “children”, Jiggles and Georgie …their cats! Her husband designs and fabricates contemporary furniture.

She is excited about helping others find their dream in Western North Carolina as her husband and her have. She stands ready to provide tireless, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic assistance that you will come to appreciate -- with a sense of humor on the side.
