About Mark
Mark Deutschmann has been selling real estate since 1986, founded Village in 1996, Core Development in 2003, and The City Living Group in 2005. The village grew to employ over three hundred and fifty agents and staff during Mark's ownership. In 2019, Mark sold his interest in Village and now serves as Chair Emeritus. Actively engaged in the community, Mark served as president for both Urban Land Institute Nashville and Greenways for Nashville and serves on the Mayor's Sustainability Advisory Board.
At the end of 2018, the Village Fund, the charitable arm of both Village and Core, surpassed $2.2 million in donations back to our community. Mark founded Go Green Home Services in 2014 to retrofit homes for energy savings, reserving profits for “Hands On” Nashville. He received the community service award from the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors in 2013, and the Sustainable Tennessee award from the Tennessee Environmental Council in 2014.
Mark has been honored as a Power 100 leader in commercial real estate by the Nashville Business Journal and In Charge development leader by the Nashville Post. Mark is the author of One-Mile Radius, Building Community from the Core, published by Advantage in 2017. Mark has undergraduate degrees in zoology and Spanish and an MBA in International Management. Mark and his wife, Sherry, live in Hillsboro Village. Sherry Stewart Deutschmann is also an avid entrepreneur, she is the founder of Letterlogic and Braintrust. Mark and Sherry like to walk neighborhoods and Greenways and enjoy traveling. Mark is an avid juggler, collects stamps, and enjoys river kayaking.
