I inherited my passion for real estate from my mom, Pat Fisher. She passed on her dynamic "real estate" gene! Here's a little bit about her, so you will get a glimpse of why you will get the best real estate service and expertise possible in Tampa Bay with me as your Realtor.
My mother started her real estate career in the Tampa Bay market in 1962 at the age of 22. I was just two years old then and had no idea that I had been born a "REK": Real Estate Kid. Over the next couple of decades she taught me so much about the real estate business as I previewed homes with her, met clients with her, went on caravans (that's really old school real estate, and has nothing to do with camels!), held open houses and all the rest. She advised me when I was 14, while I was working my first job scooping ice cream, that when I turned 18, I had to get my real estate license! So when I turned 18, I did.
After graduating with a business degree from the University of Florida in 1981, I worked for a broker in West Palm Beach for some time. Eventually, moving back to Tampa Bay, a builder hired me to pre-sell homes in his new development. I was married in 1984, and thought my real estate career was over as I relocated to Kansas City, Kansas with a Florida real estate license.
Fast forward to February 18, 2014. I found myself sitting in the offices of Charles Rutenberg Realty, dressed in medical scrubs as I had just finished working as a massage therapist at a Clearwater chiropractor's office. I owned Clearwater Personal Training and Massage which consisted of two massage studios located at Fitness 360, Clearwater and Clearwater Beach Fitness, Clearwater Beach where clients received massage therapy and personal training for fitness and health.
Why was I sitting in the real estate offices of Charles Rutenberg Realty? My mother, a broker for more than 20 years, was in the hospital with only a little more than a month left to live. She had $600,000 of listings in her real estate inventory that needed to be sold. She believed that Charles Rutenberg Realty was the best real estate firm in the area, and had advised me to bring all of her business to this company when she could no longer represent her clients.
I sold ALL of her inventory quickly, and at very good sales prices.
