During her 37 year career as a teacher, principal and district level administrator with Volusia County Schools, she was recognized as Principal of the Year twice and ended her career in the dual roles of Coordinator for Employee Performance Assessment and Principal Intern Coordinator. During the past ten years, she has served in a volunteer capacity as president of the Greater Daytona Chapter USA Dance, Inc.
