I really enjoyed working with Matene. She was very supportive along every step of the way. She helped me get the home of my dreams by coaching me on putting forth the best offer. Even though there were multiple offers for the home and it was my first offer, I was able to have my it accepted with Matene’s guidance.

She consistently remained in contact with me and the listing agent to get my questions answered and so forth. In addition, she went above and beyond to make sure I had all the resources I needed to make informed decisions. This was helpful in me not feeling overwhelmed in the process. I liked that fact that she also took my thoughts and feelings into account. As mentioned, this was a big purchase for me and it gave me a bit of anxiety. Outside of the home process, she also was advised on the lifestyle of the area and opportunities it provided. She even took me around the area to provide me more comfort in my purchase. This helped a ton and it made me more excited knowing that I had support in the process.

My process was swift with Matene, everything happened in a time span of less than a month. However, as a first time home buyer, I did and would recommend doing some research on your own to have an idea of the flow of the process, so you can get the best out of the experience and get exactly what you want. Overall, I recommend Matene as an esteemed realtor that can help with getting you into your new home. When purchasing again, Matene will def be my go to person.

I can't recommend Matene enough! We could tell we were going to have a great experience with her when she responded to our first email within minutes. Since then, she was always extremely reachable. She listened to our needs while also giving us realistic advice for the market we were in. When we found our dream home, she was able to quickly schedule a tour and we made an offer soon after. Thanks to her help, we were able to make our offer competitive and be chosen over multiple other offers. During the closing process, she was very knowledgeable and helped us navigate several negotiations. The most important one was when there was a problem with the sewage system and the seller asked for us to pay for half of the repairs. Matene was able to step in and ensure that the sellers paid for everything and that we paid none of the repairs. You will definitely not regret going with Matene as your realtor!

My custom-built home ownership was a 20-month long harrowing experience that Martene and I went through - unbeknownst to us at the time we toured this new and beautiful community in Frederick. Martene was professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. Throughout dark seasons within that 20-month long experience in which the builder collected all his dues but tactlessly and arrogantly delayed building my home in a shady bid to expire the home loan rate (I paid to lock for 12 months & was unduly penalized with an extra percent - just to protect myself); She was also my fierce advocate who fought hard for me. She unapologetically doused the fire of the builder who tried to persistently bully me with some baseless legalese. She provided informational resources every step of the way. That’s how I ended up reporting the Builder to the Maryland Attorney General’s Consumer Advocacy office. Like she also found out (although I’m a first time home owner), I’m pretty fierce too; especially in the face of sheer injustice. So, we fed off each other’s energy and more importantly joined in our Faith in God to victoriously close on my home just 2 hours shy of the expiration of my 12-month home loan locked rate. Ultimately, Martene Okoye is a respectful and consummate professional who would contextually morph into roles needed to take you successfully into your new home. The fact that she’s a God-fearing Believer is the Cream on the Cake for me. Like I always write in my communications with you Martene, Thanks-a-zillion!!!

We have known Matene for over 10 years and this is our 4th time working with her. After an appalling and dreadful experience with a previous agent, I almost became discouraged and was ready to abstain from purchasing a home until meeting Matene. My agreement with my previous agent was near expiration and wanting a change, I decided upon Matene after performing some research on sites such as this one and immediately terminated my agreement with my previous agent. I was contented to find that Matene was extremely pleasant, professional, and constructive. During the first week of viewing homes, I found the home I wanted and submitted an offer which was later accepted. My husband and I were first time home buyers and Matene made the process much more seamless, positive and personable. Her hours were extremely flexible as we kept having to schedule tours in the evening to accommodate my husband’s work schedule. If she was unable to follow through she made sure to immediately notify us and reschedule or let us know that an associate agent would give the tour instead. Also, she communicates immediately - even if she needs to consult with the seller, she is quick to notify us on it’s progress. Matene is patient, kind, honest and a good listener. Never does she rush you into making a move on a house. My wife and I looked at 20 houses. We took over 6 months before we even started. In 2013, my husband and I purchased a "starter home" as our first home together. We planned to stay in the townhouse for approximately 3-5 years; and then move to a single family home. By the end of the summer of 2015, our desire to have a single family home increased and we began our search. Although, I was excited about finding a home our kids could grow up in; the thought of selling a house and buying a house was overwhelming. Having purchased a home before, I knew doing both (purchasing and selling) would be a huge task.

I looked at houses with two other real estate agents before I deciding to make Matene Okoye my relator. Ultimately I choose her over the other two because I felt she was more attentive to my needs/wants and was more knowledgeable about the county I was looking to buy in.

As I continued to work with her, I became even more impressed with her. The following were very much appreciated during the home buying process:

1. While viewing homes we were considering for purchase, Matene made sure to identify any house "issues" she noticed.
2. While discussing bids, Matene was very honest about what she felt would be considered as a "good bid" in a bidding war.
3. Matene's recommendation for an inspector. He was very thorough.
3. Matene's familiarity with bank-owned properties.

The following were very much appreciated during the home selling process:

1. Matene consistently encouraged me to accept as many showing as possible to increase my chances of selling. Note: Staging a house that you are actively living in is not easy. :)
2. Matene helped me settle on a selling price that helped my house sell fast.

Overall, I appreciated Matene's constant communication and encouragement. It definitely helped to make things go smoother.

Over the past several years I have bought and sold properties and have worked with several agents on these transactions; some agents were great at negotiating and follow-through and others not so much. Having recently worked with Ms. Matene Okoye, Realtor/Associate Broker at Sold 100 Real Estate, located in Greenbelt, Maryland, the process was quick and seamless. Matene listened to my needs and selected properties that met my criteria. The second home I was shown, I fell in love with and closed on it in less than two months after writing the offer!!!

Matene was familiar with and recommended purchasing options, worked with my lender, arranged termite inspection, and worked diligently with the title company to bring all of her efforts and my dreams to fruition. From our first phone call, I knew that she was the right real estate broker for us. She was there for us throughout the entire process. Even though we knew she had many more clients, she made it seem as though we were the only ones. She made herself very available to us and was very prompt in returning phone calls, text messages, or emails.

When we started the process I was placed on bed rest. However, we wanted to continue to search for our first home, so Matene and my husband went to see houses together and she made video recordings of the homes so that I could see them. (I did go see the house we really liked prior to putting in an offer). How thoughtful was that! Even more, when I was admitted to the hospital, she made it a point to check on me daily. She was genuinely concerned about my health and that meant so much to me.

There were no questions that Matene was unable to answer regarding the home buying process. She was very patient with my husband and I during this entire process. She checked in with us regularly when we went under contract to ensure that things were progressing smoothly and we were staying on track for closing. She even did a video chat with me so that I could be present for the settlement. Again that speaks to how thoughtful and considerate she is.

On the day of our closing, after the settlement, she paid me a surprise visit in the hospital to congratulate me on our first home!!

My husband and I could not have purchased the home we did, for the price that we did, without Matene. We started this journey with her as our real estate professional, however, I feel as though we ended it as friends.

Let me just say that Matene Richards is simply amazing! She is dependable, patient, organized, trustworthy and an absolute pleasure to work with. The home buying process is a tiring, daunting, and somewhat scary process for anyone but particularly so for first time home buyers like ourselves. Having someone that you not only trust but also someone with expertise in the field goes a long way towards making this process a stress free and somewhat enjoyable experience. For this reason, I recommend her highly, without a doubt, to any prospective home buyer looking to buy a home in the DC/VA/MD area. We got connected with Matene through friends of ours who had a similarly stellar home buying experience with her earlier this year. Matene took the time to meet us in our home (along with our energetic 2yo running around) and find out what our needs were and what type of home we wanted. Even during her scheduled vacation overseas she was always there, arranging things remotely, to make the purchase of our first home a success. Matene was very helpful and knowledgeable regarding the homebuying process. We were first time home buyers and she walked us through the process and was able to help us negotiate a great deal on our house. We feel that without her help, we wouldn't have been able to negotiate a deal anywhere near as good. She was also supportive and encouraging when things were up in the air regarding the house deal.
