Matt Armstrong

Mr. Armstrong is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Chisum Realty & Auction. His extensive background in Oil & Gas Technology, Real Estate, and Agri-Business pursuits have allowed him to gain the knowledge and experience to be recognized as a proven entrepreneur, land broker, auctioneer, successful investor, and professional advisor.

Born in Texas and raised in Oklahoma to a family engaged in the Oil & Gas business, Matt studied and trained as a Petroleum Engineer taking on a challenge of being one of the first in the industry to develop a PC based 3D/3-Phase reservoir simulation model to be used to accurately predict the future performance of Oil & Gas reservoirs. This experience led to his involvement in the energy software industry in which, he was instrumental in the process to take the company public during 1999 (NYSE: CAMZ). As a result of this process he was able to invest in, and actively manage several agri-business start-ups including a 1,600-acre premier turf grass farm. As a result of his investment activities, Matt obtained his real estate broker’s license and auctioneer’s license. After co-founding and acting as managing partner of a top 50 United Country franchise for 5 years, Matt sold his interest in the company and founded an independent real estate and business asset brokerage in 2016. He enjoys spending time with his family, John Wayne movies, and working with complicated real estate and business marketing and sales projects. Matt is a graduate of the Certified Auctioneers Institute and holds the CAI designation. He is also a member of the REALTORS Land Institute (RLI) and holds the Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) designation. Both titles covet extensive experience and rigorous education in their respective fields.
