About Matthijs

Matthijs is from the Netherlands where he grew up and met his wife Anneke. They have 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren. Matthijs got his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1977. After he retired from his last job as Operations Manager of a software company in 2017, he acquired his Real Estate license and co-founded Blanca Peak Realty together with Anneke, who was also a real estate agent since 2011. Matthijs and Anneke love the outdoors and have lived in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains since 2004. Initially in an off-grid home, powered by Wind and Solar energy, on a 40 Acre property in Forbes Wagon Creek Ranches. They then built their dream Real Log mountain home in Forbes Park and lived there until 2022. In 2022. Blanca Peak Realty then merged with Code of the West Real Estate in 2023 and Matthijs joined the successful team that Arica Andretta built, Matthijs was specialized in mountain properties in the Sangre de Cristo mountains in Southern Colorado. He retired in January 2025.
