Trained and directed the team to achieve $150,000,000 in closed commercial real estate transactions in less than four years. Managed three regional offices in McAllen, Harlingen and Brownsville with 7 licensed realtors. 1997-2004 Former associate and President for NAI Rioco Realty Services, the predecessor to NAI RIO GRANDE VALLEY. Contemporaneously with the above, Mike formed The Michael J. Blum Company in 1988. It was created to promote development of the South Texas Border Region and to provide a wide assortment of planning, real estate and development consulting services to business, industry and government. MJBCO was a service bureau for data gathering, research assistance and expert analysis on a wide variety of regional, economic and demographic issues. For more than 4 decades Mike has been at the leading edge of critical thinking . . . envisioning the future and bringing to fruition major ventures throughout the Rio Grande Valley. 1989-1991 President of First City Development Services Group, a division of First City Bancorporation of America created to promote development of the South Texas Border Region. 1979-1988 Director of Planning/Partner, MBA Architecture Group, a Rio Grande Valley based in-house planning and design firm for Valcon Construction Company. 1973-1979 Director of Planning and Assistant City Manager-City of McAllen. 1972-1973 Director of Planning City of Edinburg
