Michael F. Bona

Michael Bona is the founding broker/owner of Bonafide Properties Inc, a full-service boutique real estate company based on the Monterey Peninsula. Michael was born on December 18th, 1948, at Cook County Hospital in Chicago Ill. He started his career in real estate in 1986 after first serving with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vietnam in 1967-68. Michael was a decorated paratrooper honorably discharged from Fort Old at that time. He has been a resident of the Monterey Peninsula since then. After attending Monterey Peninsula College, Michael entered the construction industry and founded MFB Painting and Decorating in 1974 and enjoyed the privilege of working on several iconic properties in Pebble Beach and Monterey notably providing all the moisture cured coatings for the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

During several complex markets, Michael has helped his clients navigate the steps necessary to complete transactions successfully. To Michael this is a form of art. His intent listening skills accompanied by his vast market knowledge and experience is the perfect complement to the most discreet and sophisticated buyers and sellers. Michael is well acquainted with the local real estate market and its unique community offerings. He prides himself on his ability to negotiate strongly on behalf of his clients, putting their needs primarily every time. Michael has a solid knowledge of all aspects related to purchasing real estate including financing, development, inspections, permits, construction, navigating governmental agencies and project management.

A motorcycle enthusiast and avid hiker, Michael enjoys the many outdoor trails available to our central coast location. He is a contributing member in the community and enjoys spending time with his wife, three children and seven grandchildren.
